The Promises of God:

This is quote from the devotional by John Eldredge: "The Ransomed Heart" and I think it is enough to meditate on for the rest of our lives so I'm sending it for 2 days’ worth of meditation! This is one you can print out and cut out and hang on your mirror to read to yourself DAILY!

What God Sees When He Sees You

Your sin has been dealt with. Your Father has removed it from you "as far as the east is from the he west" (Psalm 103:12). Your sins have been washed away (1 Corinthians 6:11). When God looks at you he does not see your sin. He has not one condemning thought toward you (Romans 8:1). But that's not all. You have a new heart. That's the promise of the new covenant; "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put y Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws" (Ezekiel 36:2-27). There's a reason that it's called good news!

Too many Christians today are living back in the old covenant. They've had Jeremiah 17:9 drilled into them and they walk around believing "my heart is deceitfully wicked." Not anymore it's not! Read the rest of the book. In Jeremiah 31:33, God announces the cure for all that: "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people." I will give you a new heart. That's why Paul says in Romans 2:29, "No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision  is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit." Sin is not the deepest thing about you. YOU HAVE A NEW HEART. Did you hear me?  YOUR HEART IS GOOD!

What God sees when He sees you is the real you, the true you, the man or woman HE had in mind when HE made you!

The Promises of God:

"The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them" (Psalm 34:7).

"Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?" (Hebrews 1:14).

"and delivers them" ! Notice that's it - end of story - which brings another verse to mind from Peter "the Lord knows HOW to delive the godly!" Meanwhile we are being ministered to by those very same angels that are helping to deliver us! Wherever you may need deliverance in your life it is available! If you have to wait for it - trust me - God's deliverance is WORTH waiting for - because it is COMPLETE! Trust HIM with reckless abandon today!

The Promises of God:

"The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them" (Psalm 34:7).

Another wonderful provision for us HIS offspring! His angels are sent as ministering spirits it tells us in another place to assist us and bring us God's help! Don't leave home without them! :-)

The Promises of God:

He shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you" (John 14:16, 18).

How often as we walk through life we need COMFORT! Here we are given our very own personal COMFORTER 24/7! We get so used to the terminology that it goes right over our heads - if you could afford to hire a 24/7 person just to be there to supply comfort for you when you needed it - can you imagine the COST! ??? OUR extravagant God has it built in - all ready for us - need comfort! ASK and you shall recieve that your joy might be FULL!!!!!
No stone left unturned!

Hallelujah what a PROVIDER!

The Promises of God:

Ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God" (Romans 8:15, 26, 27).

Another promise that comes to us through the Holy Spirit of God - help in prayer! What a relief! Who finds it natural or easy to pray? Not us humans - but here is the promise to meet that the need - the Holy Spirit comes along side of us and HELPS us to pray! Prayer brings God into us and the world around us! Thankfully God did not leave any stone unturned - HE covered all the bases! What A GOD!!!

The Promises of God:

"When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth" (John 16:13).

Another promise connected with the Holy Spirit! We live in a world that would like to throw truth away - if it's truth for you that's a good thing! But God's world does not operate on that kind of truth - HIS TRUTH IS ABSOLUTE! As we know God's truth and embrace it we are guided into HIS TRUTH! And THAT truth sets us from everything that would enslave us! Hallelujah!

The Promises of God:

"The Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say" (Luke 12:12).

Wow - have you ever needed this one? What an ever present HELPER the Holy Spirit is - to fill our mouth with the right words when we desperately need them! Look what we would miss if we do not know it's promise!

The Promises of God:

"He that believeth on me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified" (John 7:38, 39).

Wow! Rivers of living water! Is that what is flowing out of us? -- Have we heard what has been flowing out of our lips...out of our thoughts... out of our attitudes....? This is HIS promise for those who BELIEVE on Jesus! So if it's not happening - let's go to the source of those living waters and take a good drink! God is not holding back - we are not asking and receiving!

The Promises of God:

"And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them" (Ezekiel 36:27).

Here we see the promise of the Spirit again with the explanation of what it will do - before the cross and resurrection and outpouring of the Holy Spirit - they were not able to "walk in HIS statutes" it was just a set of imposed rules - with HIS Spirit living inside of us we can walk in HIS statutes because they are written on your hearts! Are you getting the difference there? Don't be shy - ask for more of HIS Spirit in your life!

The Promises of God:

"Behold, I will pour out my Spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you" (Proverbs 1:23).

Our extravagant lavish God uses the word "pour" often in connection with the Holy Spirit - He is longing to POUR it on us so that we are empowered to live in a way that clearly and loudly points to HIM! Are you running dry? Just go put yourself in a place of receiving and ask away! HE will answer! It's HIS promise!

The Promises of God:

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20).

Notice what is required for the promise to be fulfilled - "hear my voice and open the door" God is just longing to come to us and fellowship with us but HE waits until we "hear His voice and open the door" ! An amazing God! HE has the power to knock the door down and barge His way in - but HE will not do so. It's HIS own law - He set in motion when He gave us a free will. He waits and longs for our desire and longing to be stirred to action! Let's get this kingdom principle and learn to "hear His voice and quickly respond by opening the door to our hearts" - The advantages are all ours!

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. I will love him, and will manifest myself to him" (John 14:18, 21).

The promise of the Holy Spirit and it was fulfilled at Pentecost and is STILL AVAILABLE today!  Jesus said all we needed to do was ask the Father for the Holy Spirit and HE would give it! Are you running dry? Go ask for a new infilling today! HE WILL GIVE IT!!!

The Promises of God:

A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth" (Isaiah 42:3).

Another precious promise of HIS tender love and care for us - when we're down he will not crush us - and HE WILL bring forth the TRUTH! What an advocate! Totally with us - totally for us - totally understands us - totally loves us!

The Promises of God:

"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young" (Isaiah 40:11).

What a tender picture we have here of the Lord's care over us - a shepherd must take a huge amount of care in regards to feeding his sheep - he must check out the area ahead of time and make sure there are no snake holes or poisonous weeds around for the sheep to feed on - sheep need peaceful green pastures! Sometimes the little ones need to be carried, etc. This is our Savior - caring for us in this day as carefully as a shepherd does his sheep!

The Promises of God:

"Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:14-16).

Now we're told in addition to the wonderful access we have in Jesus as our own personal High Priest - that He is not someone who does not understand us completely - His coming in human form makes him our own personal representative in heaven who COMPLETELY identifies with us and understands us better than we do ourselves! Now that's some kind of rep! So no matter how out of control we may feel things are in our world - we have a place to go to obtain mercy and find grace to help in OUR time of need!!!! If you had a personal friend in the president's cabinet you would feel like you an "in" - well here's a MUCH BETTER - FAR SUPERIOR IN - and we have it! HALLELUJAH!!

The Promises of God:

"Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them" (Hebrews 7:25).

Ever lives to make intercession for us! That means RIGHT NOW - HE is praying for us! Interceding on our behalf! WE have our own personal High Priest - under the old covenant the High Priest was fairly inaccessible to the ordinary every day people - and he only had access into the holy place ONE time a year! Hallelujah for the cross whereby we gains 24/7 access with BOLDNESS! What a powerful resource - no wonder the enemy tries to keep us from prayer at all costs.! Let's make use of this wonderful access today!

The Promises of God:

"I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10).

So how is it with you? Are you living that ABUNDANT life or not? These are Jesus very own words - and He says it was the reason HE came! Our enemy is ALWAYS trying to steal our joy - kill our abundant living! It's about our hearts - With Jesus inside our heart - our heart is good and we can allow HIM to just pour HIS abundance through us DAILY! "ABUNDANZA" was one of my Dad's favorite words! Let's live it!

The Promises of God:

"He that eateth me, even he shall live by me" (John 6:57).

We live through feasting on HIM! Jesus said "I am the real bread and real drink" - this offended some and they stopped following Him. Our spirit needs nourishment just as our body does - if we stop eating, we will eventually die. Same with our Spirit man! Let's keep feasting on HIM the LIVING bread and wine - HE SATISFIES!

The Promises of God:

"Because I live, ye shall live also" (John 14:19).

LIFE! Real life! How easy it is to forget that this life we are now living is really  a dying experience - We consider the end of life as we know it - as death - but really it is the only the beginning of REAL - TRUE - ETERNAL LIFE - for the believer! This is EXTRA - EXTRA GOOD NEWS! Life as we know it is only a shadow of the REAL ETERNAL LIFE that is promised us. Let us lift up the eyes of our heart to the place HE has gone to prepare for us that we LIVE! Meanwhile Jesus has promised us LIFE ABUNDANT here and now. What a God!

The Promises of God:

"How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the Mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance" (Hebrews 9:14, 15)
.
Now any inheritance is something we get excited about - but here we are promised an ETERNAL INHERITANCE!!!!! Christ's death has taken place so the will can be probated whenever we BELIEVE that it is for us! Best part - it's not only for this short life but for ETERNITY! Don't buy into the devil's lie that this world is what we're living for! Paul said "to be with Christ is far better! :-) Are you living in your inheritance or living as a pauper? Today - claim your portion! Kick it up a notch!

The Promises of God:

"I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles" (Isaiah 42:6).

Sometimes that is all we need - someone to take us by the hand and tell us they will be with us through the ordeal and that we will be ok. Somehow God knew that we would need that before we even did! Let's make sure we turn to HIM in our troubles not away from HIM - HIS promises are good HE will remain by our side holding our hand through it all!

What a beautiful description of our Lord and Savior! "the Sun of Righteousness" - and He brings to us healing for any thing we may need healing for - body, soul and spirit! Notice the end result - maturity! Wherever we may need HIS touch today - it is available! Let's open our hearts to allow Him access to our inner man that will bring healing and restoration where it is needed.

The Promises of God:

"All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out" (John 6:37).

God is not in the casting off business! He's in the "taking in" business! He came to take us in to His family and set us free from sin - die in our place - take our punishment for sin on Himself - and then share His family status with us! whew! What a God we serve! If it was left up to us - there are quite a few people we would "cast out" but not so with God! Hallelujah! Don't let Satan use his age old tool of condemnation against you telling you that you've crossed the line from which there is no return! HE IS A LIAR - God said - "I will in no wise cast out"! It's all inclusive!

"I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" (Hebrews 13:5).

This one works front wards or backwards! :-) Backwards it reads: "Thee forsake nor leave never will I" :-) What ever way you read it - the meaning is the same - no matter what you may be going through or walking in - GOD will NEVER take off and leave you to go take care of someone else - He'll be right there with you through good and bad ALWAYS! It's HIS WORD!

The Promises of God:

"As I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee" (Isaiah 54:9, 10).

Wow - just as God promised to never again destroy the earth by flood waters, so here He promises to not remove His peace and kindness from us! It is exactly the opposite of what our world, the church and our enemy would have us believe. God is NOT forever longing for ways to show His anger and punish us - but rather for ways to burst through into our lives with HIS love and kindness! Let's not be among those who are duped! :-)

The Promises of God:

"I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David" (Isaiah 55:3).

Notice not just a covenant but our superfluous God makes an EVERLASTING covenant with us - one that is now written on our hearts and not just on tablets of stone - (ten commandments). No one could live those commandments on their own - it was only after the cross - after the blood covenant was signed - sealed and delivered - that the commandments could then be written on our hearts and the EVERLASTING covenant was entered into! As surely as Jesus came through David's line and kept that covenant - so we are brought into that everlasting covenant when we believe on HIM! May it dawn on us more fully all that means for us!

"The eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy" (Psalm 33:18).

Another promise of how our LORD carefully watches over all of us! Just another way to express it. Think of it - when you are out and about your eye carefully watches where your children are - every step they take, etc. - That's the picture of our LORD! His eye is on us carefully watching us ready to come to aid or rescue and protect us from any miss-step. We need not fear - but as a loving trusting child place our hand in HIS and walk along through our day knowing HE will not allow our feet to stumble - He will not allow anyone or anything to snatch us out of HIS hand! HIS eye is upon us for good!

The Promises of God:

"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you" (1Peter 5:7).

Isn't that a dream come true!? Do you believe it? HE CARES FOR YOU! First of all HE - God and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ care about us today! Not just in general but specifically! Next, He CARES for you! The God of the universe! Again not just in general terms as another # on the list but as an individual unique and precious to HIS heart! Next: He careth FOR you! In other words whatever you may be anxious about - whatever is causing you "CARE" - HE is willing to take on that project for you so that you can live CARE FREE! (I'm not making this up!) :-) Lastly, He careth for YOU! Somehow we always figure it means someone else and not "ME"! Read it again - OUT LOUD! "HE CARES FOR ME!" The Psalmist tells us to "roll" our cares on Him - we know it in our mouths - can teach it to another - but will we live it today?
