The Promises of God are like a golden key that will unlock us from
any bondage the enemy would hold us in.
2 Corinthians 1:20
For all the promises of God in him [are] yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
The great allegory by John
Bunyan "Pilgrim's Progress" is the story of a Christian man on
his way from earth to glory and all the struggles he encounters along the way.
One of the struggles is as follows: "Christian and his friend Faithful are
walking along the road sharing with one another God's goodness to each of them
when the road becomes rough and rocky. They see that not far from where they
are walking there is another path that looks smooth and green and grassy. Now
they have been given clear instructions on the way they are to go, but
completely disregard those instructions. The result was they ended up prisoners
in the Castle of Giant Despair! Bound in chains, thinking there was no way
out they remained for some days. Finally it dawned on Christian that he had
been given the golden key of promise that could unlock those prison doors. He began to have hope and began claiming those promises as he placed the
key in the lock sure enough the prison doors swung open. Each time he used the key of promise it produced the same result until once again they were on the outside of that dreadful
Castle and back on the right road.
Whatever bondage the devil is trying to keep you in - find God's
promise that applies to it - claim it and BELIEVE it and be set free in the
name of JESUS!
