The Promises of God:

Your sandals shall be iron and bronze; As your days, so shall your strength be. Deuteronomy 33:25 

These words are part of Moses final blessing on the tribes of Israel before he died. Today the 29^th of February is an “extra day” in the year for us. Often we run out of strength without them throwing in another day besides! No matter, here’s a promise to cover it all. “As your days, so shall your strength be.

The Promises of God:

"Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever. O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!" (Deuteronomy 4:40; 5:29).

We see here that God was looking for the HEART of His people to be honoring HIM and inclined towards HIM for THEIR benefit! When God saw that David had a HEART for HIM - he was anointed king. Another verse tells us that HIS eyes run to and fro over the whole earth looking for a HEART that loves HIM! May His eyes stop on us today as His eyes go to and fro!

The Promises of God:

"The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it" (Proverbs 10:22).

Now there's a promise I like an extra lot! You know how it goes - people / ads promise us all sorts of perks and "blessings" however when you read the "fine print" there is always some catch! Or you probably get the same e-mails I do - You are the winner of a new laptop computer just enter your zip code here! _______ hahahahaahaha - then you have to go and fill out many offers and your computer does not arrive until you have submitted documented proof of all those offers and their fulfillment !!!

Doesn't it make you GLAD that "the blessing of the Lord, makes us RICH and HE adds no sorrow (no strings attached) with it!!!!!! ???? Some of you remember the old chorus: "The blessings will come down as the praise goes up - so why not praise the Lord!" Whatever else is on your agenda today start blessing and thanking the LORD for HIS blessings and watch how it boomerangs!

The Promises of God:

And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water" (Exodus 23:25).

Bread and water! Things we take sooo for granted - but nothing escapes the ever watchful and careful eye of the ALMIGHTY! How about us remembering to BLESS HIM for the provision of them! The Promises of God:

"Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee" (Deuteronomy 28:3-6, 8).

This covers all the bases! God has us covered! No surprise there! However, this blessing does hinge on our choosing to follow Him and His commandments! We can be sure that when God COMMANDS something it will happen! So let's make sure we are choosing to follow HIM and not anyone or anything else! The BLESSING must follow!

The Promises of God:

The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children" (Psalm 115:14).

INCREASE! Not one of us can turn down such an offer! Earlier in Psalm 115 it says: "The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron." He will bless the house of ________ (put your name in there) "He will bless those who fear the Lord both small and great - "

We see he has no favorites. When is the last time you wondered if anyone was taking note of you and all you do! Notice it says the LORD has been mindful of YOU! :-) Let that thought put a smile on your face and a spring in your step today!

The Promises of God:

"Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver" (Proverbs 8:18, 19).

"In the house of the righteous is much treasure" (Proverbs 15:6).

Time to start "treasure hunting"! We are always looking for temporal treasures and HE is always offering enduring (lasting) treasures! Where your treasure is there will your heart be also! Lay up for yourselves treasure in heaven! As we walk with HIM, HE imparts eternal treasure into our hearts which HE expects us to use to bring forth HIS abundance in our lives and the lives of those around us! Let's not bury our treasure in the ground but re-invest it into HIS kingdom!

The Promises of God:

"And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers. And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee" (Deuteronomy 30:9; 28:11).

That sounds like ABUNDANCE to me! Jesus said, "I am come that you might have LIFE and have it to the FULL" or MORE ABUNDANTLY! ~~ABUNDANZA~~ !! Sound too good to be true - remember WHO we are dealing with here! The God of the universe! RICH beyond anything you or I can even imagine! So lose that poor mentality and start believing in HIS ABUNDANCE for YOU!

The Promises of God:

"The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow" (Deuteronomy 28:12).

Now when HE opens his good treasure - we can be sure it is worthwhile treasure! The New Testament comments that "where your treasure is there your heart will be also." So just where is your heart? :-) Let us make a decided effort to "set our affection" on HIS treasure! Go for the gold! - And go for it as if there were only one gold medal to be handed out!

It will be worth it all, when we see Jesus

Life's trials will seem so small when we see Him

One glimpse of His dear face, all sorrow will erase,

So bravely run the race, 'till we see Christ!

The Promises of God:

"I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil. And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full" (Deuteronomy 11:14, 15).

The promise here is for natural rain - but it foreshadows also the promise of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit like rain upon our parched hearts. Jesus, Himself, encouraged His followers to ASK for the refreshing rain of His Spirit and promised that it would be given. So start today with a fresh request for the refreshing rain of the Holy Spirit to shower down upon you as you go out into your day - we would not think of going out into the day without a physical shower - how much more do we need that Holy Ghost shower! Let it rain!

The Promises of God:

Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways.Thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee" (Psalm 128:2).

Again we see there is a promise based on a condition. In order to eat of the labor of our hands we have to do the labor! :-) You cannot sleep through planting season and expect an abundant harvest!! If we "fear the Lord and walk in His ways,.... we will be happy and it will be well" - Let's be "about our Father's business" and watch how HE will take care of our business!

The Promises of God:

"Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass" (Psalm 37:5).

Commit here means "roll" - So much easier said than done! We usually think that if we take care of everything ourselves then our lives will work out right - :-) It was one of the great lessons God was trying to teach the Israelites in the wilderness - just once He was looking for them to commit their way to Him. Instead they complained and did not believe HE as God already had a solution to meet their immediate need. ...... sound familiar? Let us take the challenge offered us in Hebrews to learn from their mistakes and instead BELIEVE God that HE is ABLE for me today!

The Promises of God:

"He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper" (Psalm 1:3).

The condition:

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night....

We like the "prospering" part - but again to get there takes some "walking...standing...sitting...meditating..." in the right places and with the right thoughts. Where our thoughts go in idle moments - is a good barometer of what we tend to meditate on. Let's choose LIFE!

The Promises of God:

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him (Psalm 91:14, 15).

Another promise based on a condition - setting our love upon HIM! It seems so simple - but we have a subtle enemy who finds ways to distract our love because he knows the benefits that will follow - DELIVERANCE - ANSWERS - COMFORT - VICTORY. If you have gotten distracted in any way - determine today to SET your love on HIM the one true lover of your soul!

The Promises of God:

"For them that honour me I will honour" (1Samuel 2:30).

Honor here is referring to obedience. God is looking not for the kind of honor that is bestowed on an Olympic gold medalist - but rather the kind of honor that changes our way of living every day - the kind of living that clearly states that we BELIEVE HE is GOD (of me, of my day, of my circumstances, etc.) - and that HE is the author and finisher of our salvation through Jesus Christ His Son! Salvation is not just a free ticket to heaven - it also needs to affect our daily living in such a way that Jesus becomes visible to those around us - that brings HIM the highest HONOR! Join HIS "honor guard" Just like the American flag commands our honor - when we see it we salute or stand at attention - so may those around us when they see HIM in our daily living - stand in honor and awe of such a wonderful GOD!

The Promises of God:

And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them (Deuteronomy 28:13).

This is a promise based on a condition IF we hearken (listen) to and follow HIS commands then the blessing is promised - the New Testament tells us that HIS commandments are not grievous - Jesus Himself said, "for my yoke is easy and my burden is light." For a heart "in love" nothing is too much to ask - Let's heat up the fire of love for Jesus today!

The Promises of God:

And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them" (Isaiah 42:16).

There are quite a few promises here! Crooked things straight sounds like tonic to my heart - It's not difficult to recognize the "crookedness" - how comforting to know I belong to ONE who promises to make my crookedness straight! Tacked on is another huge comfort - ..."and not forsake them..." Someone who is willing to straighten my crookedness AND who will not forsake me! Now that's enough to turn up the corners of any glum day! Verses like this make me feel hugged. So tuck these thoughts in your heart today and carry heavens hug with you everywhere you go.

The Promises of God:

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths" (Proverbs 3:6).

"The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way" (Proverbs 11:5).

"A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps" (Proverbs 16:9).

Direction! We are promised direction! In a world where people have seemed to completely lose their way we have a resource! In a world where people do not want direction from anyone - we have DIRECTION & DESTINATION! Even though life seems like maze or a jungle sometimes and we feel lost - remember this is not HOME - we are on our way HOME we have a DESTINATION and a GUIDE who never falters.

I have a guide that never falters,

And where He leads I cannot stray

For step by step He goes before me

And marks my path, He knows the way.

He knows the way - that leads to glory

Thy every fear He will allay

And lead me safe at last to heaven,

Let Jesus lead, He knows the way.

Psalm 3:3 “But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.”

When I look around and watch people coming and going I am always saddened by how many people actually walk with their head hanging down and looking forlorn. We have a formidable enemy who is always at work to keep our heads DOWN rather than UP! Sometimes it is on the INSIDE and we do not show it on the outside but we have a resource! "Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them" (Psalm 119:165).

Here is some valuable information for us - loving God's law has some great benefits! 1. GREAT PEACE and 2. Nothing will offend us! - that means trip us up - clearly loving God's Words and precepts is to OUR advantage - the enemy makes it seem dull and too much effort but the Psalmist had learned differently. Let us learn this lesson too - meditate on the WORD not on who offended you! :-)

"For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her" (Zechariah 2:5).

The glory in the midst of us! That means right in the middle - front and center - there HE is - the glory and the lifter of our heads! This was spoken about Jerusalem looking forward to the day of salvation of which we are a part! When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour" (Isaiah 43:2, 3).

"I will fear no evil for Thou art with me"...... somehow we have the idea that the promises of God will keep us from ever passing through the waters and rivers....or walking through the fire.... notice the promise is that HE WILL BE THERE! If you've lived through any of that "stuff" you already know it's TRUE! Hallelujah!

"But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil" (Proverbs 1:33).

Although we are not exempt from all of life difficulties as children of God - we do enjoy the safety provided us by our heavenly citizenship. It is easy to forget all the 100's of times we have enjoyed the benefit of dwelling safely and the quietness that comes from being set free from all fear. I will not fear for THOU art with me. The Promises of God;

"As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever" (Psalm 125:2).

The mountains were considered natural protection - here we are promised SUPER NATURAL protection - If the President would go off on his own without the secret service around him we would consider him foolish - so we are foolish if we go out into our day without the protection freely offered to us by our LORD! Cover yourself with HIS protection ask Him to dispatch armies of angels to surround you and cover yourself with HIS blood shed on Calvary - it's all for YOU!

The Promises of God

"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore" (Psalm 121:1-8).

One more thought to ponder - from whence the promise cometh! :-) It comes for the LORD of angel armies who made the hills and everything else - not from someone with wishful thinking or grandiose ideas who cannot fulfill them! So, whatever circumstance - whatever going or coming you are doing - know your Heavenly Hero is ready to fulfill His Word to you today!

It is downright ESSENTIAL! Preservation from evil! Preservation for your soul and all your comings and goings! So today and every day in all your going out and coming in remember you have a loving God who is watching over and preserving you!
