The Promises of God:

"The LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous" (Proverbs 2:6, 7).

What a promise! wisdom-knowledge-understanding all wrapped up together! Since it is a promise - if we are lacking any of these - guess where the lack is? - yup - with us! no lack on God's end! James tells us that if we lack wisdom we should ASK because God gives it out liberally and does not get tired of us asking for it - we get tired of asking and waiting to receive it!
