The Promises of God:
"Blessed are they that dwell
in thy house: they will be still praising thee. For a day in thy courts is
better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God,
than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. The LORD will give grace and
glory" (Psalm 84:4, 11).
The Psalmist here sees the value
and blessing of remaining close to the house of the Lord - Our world has
changed so much that the value of staying close to God's house is no longer
viewed as desirable - The blessings we reap from keeping connected to HIS house
are immeasurable! Let's now allow the "world's" view to influence our
behavior! The Psalm ends with the promise that God will give us "grace and
glory" as we walk uprightly! It takes grace and glory to stay connected -
but it is promised! :-)
