The Promises of God:
"I am thy shield, and thy
exceeding great reward" (Genesis 15:1).
This promise was given to Abraham
long ago - but we are told that we are the children of Abraham, so it applies
to us as well. Abraham was living like a nomad - traveling from place to place
- it was not the general rule of the day - mostly people stayed in their places
surrounded by family - passing on their property to their children - Here God
promises to be Abraham's reward or legacy - meanwhile, Abraham had not one child
he could call his own - and there goes God calling him the "Father of many
nations" - and at the time did not own a piece of property that could be
passed on to anyone - yet God tells shows him all the surrounding lands and
tells Abraham they are all his!!! Abraham BELIEVED that HE IS and that HE IS
the Rewarder of those who diligently seek HIM! Let's follow Abraham's example!
