The Promises of God:

"He that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye" (Zechariah 2:8).

Therefore nothing that touches us does not touch HIM! How our enemy twists that one up! Consider too that we are referred to as "the apple of HIS eye!" wow! A term of endearment we reserve only for someone near and dear to us - are you getting it? WE are near and dear to HIM! Open your heart to believe that and receive it in the full magnitude GOD means it!

The Promises of God:

"I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee." (Isaiah 41:10).

Another promise of HIS DIVINE HELP! and STRENGTH. and of being upheld by HIS right hand! what comfort! what safety! what security! On top of it all HE adds -- FEAR NOT! :-)  How awesome that he sees and understands our fears and life dilemma's enough to meet us where we are and bolster us up! Notice He is NOT berating us for not being full of strength or for being fearful! HE just comes through to us with love and empowerment - our part - receive HIS HELP!

The Promises of God:

"We may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me" (Hebrews 13:6).

When we fully understand what it means for the Lord to be MY HELPER - then we cannot fear what man can do to us - it is temporary - passing - fleeting - another place it tells us that our Lord is a VERY PRESENT HELP in our time of trouble - HE is not far off - but VERY PRESENT! However in order to receive HELP we need to ask for it! This promise says that we can be bold about saying "THE LORD IS MY HELPER!"

The Promises of God:

"The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them. Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places" (Deuteronomy 33:27, 29).

Yes, I know it's the same verse as yesterday - but another thought - "underneath are the everlasting arms" is grabbing my attention today. Sometimes we feel like everything solid and stable has pulled out from underneath - we no longer FEEL secureness. We feel like we've been tossed on an uncontrollable sea - but it clearly says that "underneath [us] are the everlasting arms" of GOD! So if life is pitching and tossing you - remember - "underneath [you] are HIS great everlasting, [ever-loving] arms!" REST in that knowledge today.

"The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah" (Psalm 46:11).

"If God be for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31).

Just knowing that we HAVE a refuge in times of turmoil and trouble should comfort our hearts on the best or worst of days. God has promised it -! Therefore, who or what can be against us? Sometimes it seems like every thing imaginable as well as every demon in hell is against us - but here we are reminded that GOD is for us! Period. That settles things because HE has already conquered and WON! No matter how it looks - our enemy is a skillful liar and deceiver! Embrace the TRUTH!

"Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. The mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him" (Psalm 103:13, 17).

Mercy from everlasting to everlasting! That's a bit beyond our understanding! The picture of a tender Father we can perhaps understand - but even if that is out of our grasp because of an earthly father that failed us - we now have a HEAVENLY FATHER that never runs out of patience with us or endurance - His mercies are new EVERY morning! Let that comfort your heart today!

I like that word COMMAND! Thankfully unlike us - HIS lovingkindness does not depend on how HE is or is not feeling today!!!! :-) It is just something we can COUNT ON!

"If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him" (John 14:23).

Literally it means "we will tent with him" - what a thought! God moving in to our hearts, settling down, and taking up permanent residence with us! Are you able to wrap your understanding around that one? Don't try - just accept it - God wants to live with me and you! Think of all that this implies! And keep thinking of it! "There they dwell with the King for HIS work" That's HIS desire - union and communion! Hallelujah what a thought!

The Promises of God:

"The LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them" (Numbers 23:21).

This comment was made by Balaam to Balak when Balak had hired Balaam to curse the Israelites. Balaam could not do it - although he made sacrifices and tried to curse them all that came out of his mouth was blessing - and in one of those utterances God comments about Israel the above verse, saying that HE was with them and that the "shout of a king" is among them! Now if you read the story preceding these chapters - that is probably not what our assessment would be - our assessment might run more like this: they are a rebellious lot and never cease grumbling and complaining! God saw something beyond the surface stuff! God sure sees things differently than we do! HALLELUJAH! How is it in our homes? Is the "shout of the King" in our mouths? May it be so!

Moses refused to allow God to send an angel with him on his way through the wilderness with the Israelites - He would be satisfied with nothing less than that JEHOVAH GOD accompany him! May we learn the valuable lesson - don't attempt the journey alone! God never meant for you to go solo! His intent is to go with us and that should bring us into HIS rest! I see so many people shuffling along through their daily life with their heads drooping low and that hopeless expression in their eyes! The next time the enemy tries to get you to hang you head and shuffle through your day - REMEMBER - HE is the GLORY and the LIFTER of your head! We are royalty - Kings and Queens unto our God - you cannot wear the crown and droop your head - it doesn't work! :-) Walk like royalty - head up - eyes bright - back straight! It makes people stop and wonder what or who you know! :-)

The Promises of God:

"The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup" (Psalm 16:5).

"The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him" (Lamentations 3:24).

"My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever" (Psalm 73:26).

MY portion - speaks of inheritance! HE has taken us into HIS family in such a way that we are HEIRS and joint HEIRS with HIS only beloved SON! GO FIGURE that one out! Certainly it is not the way we operate in our human-ness! Our human-ness says,

"First, I come

And then I come again,

And then YOU don't come for quite some time!"

God just lavishes us with HIS love - makes us a legitimate son or daughter and then bestows HIS legacy and inheritance upon us freely! whew!

The Promises of God:

"I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward" (Genesis 15:1).

This promise was given to Abraham long ago - but we are told that we are the children of Abraham, so it applies to us as well. Abraham was living like a nomad - traveling from place to place - it was not the general rule of the day - mostly people stayed in their places surrounded by family - passing on their property to their children - Here God promises to be Abraham's reward or legacy - meanwhile, Abraham had not one child he could call his own - and there goes God calling him the "Father of many nations" - and at the time did not own a piece of property that could be passed on to anyone - yet God tells shows him all the surrounding lands and tells Abraham they are all his!!! Abraham BELIEVED that HE IS and that HE IS the Rewarder of those who diligently seek HIM! Let's follow Abraham's example!

Here the promise is that our Maker - our God - the Lord of angel armies - is also our marriage partner! Can you wrap your mind around that one!? The God of the whole earth loves us with an everlasting - passionate LOVE! My Dad used to say - "marriage is a funny thing - those who are married, wish they weren't and those who aren't wish they were!" :-) So in whatever ways you may feel unfulfilled or less than satisfied - here's a promise to fill in those gaps! THY MAKER IS your HUSBAND! HE really satisfies as we allow Him access to our innermost beings! TODAY - allow HIM to woo you into more intimacy with HIM than you've ever experienced before!

What a promise - we know the words - but do we know it in experience? FEAR NOT! What a formidable foe FEAR is! Our enemy has so many ways of holding us back by making us fear - we fear change - we fear relationships - we fear the unknown we fear freedom from ourselves! - after a while we just FEAR - if there is a reason to or not - it becomes an enslaving habit! FEAR NOT is the most often repeated commandment in the Bible and with good reason! ! ! When we understand that GOD is OUR GOD and has promised to remain with us through all that life may throw at us - we lose our fear!

The Promises of God:

"God himself shall be with them, and be their God" (Revelation 21:3).

"Ye shall be my people, and I will be your God" (Jeremiah 30:22).

"I will be their God, and they shall be my people" (2Corinthians 6:16).

"I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people" (Hebrews 8:10).

"And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people" (Leviticus 26:12).

"This God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death" (Psalm 48:14).

Clearly God is wanting us to get the idea that we belong to HIM! Through the pages of the Bible we see that God is ever longing for fellowship and longing to pour out HIMSELF and HIS heart of love and make it known to HIS children! May we revel in the knowledge that we belong to this awesome - God of the universe! We used to sing it long ago---

"I belong to the God of the mountains,

I belong to the God of the sea,

I belong to the God of the universe,

And HE BELONGS TO ME!"

How simple salvation is! nothing additional - no fine print! What promise? Verse 38 says:

 "Repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

The Promises of God:

"For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory" (2 Corinthians 4:16, 17).

Notice it says "light" affliction - however, when we are afflicted that is not usually our perspective! LOOK at the outcome - from God's view point! Our afflictions work for us a "FAR MORE EXCEEDING and ETERNAL weight of glory!" Somehow this so easily escapes us! We want the glory and glory sounds good - but we don't want the affliction - guess what - the 2 come together - it's a package deal! Next time you are struggling with some "affliction" remember there's MORE to it than meets the eye - FAR MORE EXCEEDING and ETERNAL !!! This life is not the end result of our living! HALLELUJAH! We're on our way HOME! Let's choose to live as if we believe in ETERNITY!

The Promises of God:

The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands" (Psalm 138:8).

God CANNOT forsake the work of HIS own hands - which is you and me! HE will perfect all that concerns us! When we go to a lawyer for help we are hoping that the lawyer will be able to "perfect" that which concerns us - mostly it just causes us more concern because of their huge bills at the end of the process - but here's our very own personal ADVOCATE and lawyer who won't be racking up a huge bill for every 1/2 minute we spend talking to HIM about what concerns us! HE love to hear our pleas and longs to communicate HIS Love and MERCY to us! Bank on it!

Unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy" (Jude 24).

HE IS ABLE to KEEP us from falling! Whew! Do you remember as a child walking along beside an adult who had hold of your hand - even if you tripped they were strong enough to hold you up and keep you from falling - that's our GOD! But it doesn't stop there - AND present you faultless - without scrape or sign of ever having fallen! Present us to the Father with HIS own robe of right-ness - as if we had never ever fallen once - with EXCEEDING JOY - !!! Maybe we will never fully understand the great JOY of HIS great heart because we choose to BELIEVE in HIM and allow Him to live His life out in and through us!

"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6).

What a comfort! It is not up to us to complete the good work that HE has started in us! It's up to HIM.
