The Promises of God:

"LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power" (2 Chronicles 14:11).

This is from an attack from Ethiopia against Asa King of Judah - Ethiopia came with an army of over a million and Judah had an army of less than 1/2 that size - Asa cried out to God - numbers don't matter with you! You are the God of angel armies! And God fought with them and for them and Ethiopia was overturned. Again just another natural illustration for us - we are not fighting actual physical battles - but the war for our hearts and minds rages daily! As well as the battle for the souls of men. We do not fight alone and though we may feel like a "few" up against so many with the odds against us - "IF God be for us - WHO can be against us!? He who spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all .... shall He not also freely give us all things!? He shall - He will - He did! HALLELUJAH!!! What a Savior!

The Promises of God:

"Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them"
 (2 Kings 6:16).

This was spoken by Elisha to his servant who awakened one morning to find the city they were staying in surrounded by a literal army of chariots and horses. Elisha prayed that God would open his servants eyes - and lo and behold, the terrified servant saw that the heavenly hosts of angel armies that were with them far out numbered their enemies!!! HALLELUJAH!! Isn't that so often the case with us too? The present distress is all too easy to focus on - but if we'll pray for that heavenly vision - we'll clearly see that our present circumstances are not in control - we too are surrounded by "so great a cloud of witnesses" and GREATER is HE that is in us - than he that is in the world! FEAR NOT!

The Promises of God:

Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken" (Proverbs 3:25, 26).

Whew! What a command and promise! FEAR NOT - Is that actually possible? It is the most frequent command in the Bible - BECAUSE - we have the LORD with us always - at all times - good or bad - "WE have this confidence." Question is: are we living like that? Fear is one of the enemy's tools to keep us from living a life of victory and confidence! Walk out in that today as Peter walked out on the water. Jesus did not intend for him to sink - it was only as Peter took his eyes off the Master that he lost his footing! :-)

The Promises of God:
"Behold, God himself is with us for our captain" (2Chronicles 13:12).

I guess we cannot be reminded too often that we have the GOD of Angel Armies our very own personal Navy Seal going before us and mapping out the way! We really do not have to figure it all out on our own! How patient HE is when we take matters into our own hands and forge ahead in crazy directions! Patiently He waits for us to stop, come back to Him allowing Him to be CAPTAIN! A human military captain would just order us into line - Our Heavenly Captain - allows us to get tired of our own ways and come back to Him even when we've messed up badly! WHAT LOVE!

The Promises of God

John 14:19
Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
Because HE Lives

GOD Sent HIS SON,
They called HIM JESUS;
HE Came to love, heal and forgive;
HE lived and died
To buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there
To prove my Saviour lives.

CHORUS:
Because He lives
I can face tomorrow;
Because HE lives
All fear is gone;
Because I know
HE holds the future,
And life is worth the living
just because HE lives.

How sweet to hold
A new born baby,
And feel the pride,
And joy HE gives;
But greater still
The calm assurance,
This child can face uncertain days
Because HE lives.

Chorus:

And then one day
I'll cross the river;
I'll fight life's
Final war with pain,
And then as death
Gives way to victory,
I'll see the lights of Glory
And I'll know HE lives.

A Blessed Resurrection Sunday to you!

The Promises of God:

"The LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you. For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee" (Deuteronomy 20:4; 23:14).

In our case it is not physical human enemies we need help with but the attacks of the enemy. The good news is that satan is already a defeated foe! His time is short! When you are "under attack" remember you have been equipped with armor - salvation, the truth of God's Word, faith, righteousness, peace, as well as the sword of the Spirit and the secret weapon of PRAYER! Don't behave like an untrained civilian! Stand up and fight! Resist the devil and he will FLEE from you! Remember we do not fight alone!

The Promises of God:
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us" (Romans 8:1, 33, 34).

Imagine that! Not only did he go to the cross and rise again for us - but HE continues to pour His love out on us continually by interceding for us at His Father's right hand! What love! How could we be "down" or "discouraged" ???

"It wasn't nails that held Jesus to the cross,
It was His love for us, that held Him to the cross,
AND HOW the angels must have cried,
Watching helpless as He died -
To bring us love - perfect love, His kind of LOVE!"

The Promises of God:

"Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field" (Zechariah 10:1).

RAIN is promised! Now that is good naturally speaking, but even better spiritually speaking! We need the RAIN of the Holy Spirit to pour down on us daily! When it comes the the rain of the Holy Spirit I want a torrential downpour - how about you? It tells us here to ASK for it! Jesus said the same thing - ASK for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on your life and HE promised it was a request that could not be denied! HALLELUJAH!!!!!

The Promises of God:
"When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them" (Isaiah 41:17).

A promise to have our thirst quenched! Have you ever been really thirsty!? Gone hiking and forgot the water ...? or taken a long walk ... or really exerted yourself and found all you could think of was a cool refreshing drink of water? Have you noticed that when you are really thirsty NOTHING else refreshes and delights you so much as WATER!? How about your spiritual thirst? Are you thirsty for LIVING FOUNTAINS of water to refresh your spirit man? Maybe your spirit man is dehydrated. I heard recently that more Americans suffer from dehydration than anyone realizes! Water has endless benefits it supplies to our natural bodies. Just so - spiritual water has endless benefits it supplies to our spirit, soul and body! If you find yourself spiritually dehydrated today - here's the promise that the God of Israel will supply the need - quench the thirst! Let's increase our spiritual water drinking!

Like the woman at the well I was thirsting
For things that could not satisfy
But then I heard the Savior speaking,
Draw from My well that never shall run dry!

Fill my cup, Lord, I lift it up, Lord
Come and quench the thirsting of my soul
Bread of heaven, feed me 'till I want no more,
Here's my cup, fill it up and make me whole.

The Promises of God:

"Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine" (Psalm 33:18, 19).

Another verse tells His eyes run to and fro across the whole earth to find a heart that loves Him so that He can bless us! Here we are promised that His eye is on those who fear Him. That means "reverence" Him. Not to be afraid of Him! It also tells us that His eye is on those who hope [TRUST] in His mercy! The verse goes on to promise that HE will sustain us even during a time of famine! Are you tempted to think God does not see your dry and barren wilderness situation?? Remember today - HIS eye is on YOU! If He notices the sparrows that fall to the ground daily how much more does HE watch out for and think of us? HE gave ALL for us at Calvary's cross!!!!

The Promises of God:

"I am come that you might have life and have it more abundantly! John 10:10

"ABUNDANZA!" We've been promised ABUNDANT LIFE - not just some day but TODAY! We belong to the KING of the universe, therefore we are palace dwellers, royalty, heirs and joint heirs of all that JESUS purchased for us on Calvary! Are we living like royalty...thinking like royalty...acting like royalty....? You remember the story of the man who visited with a wealthy King - before leaving the King asked what he could gift him with - the gentleman loved to play golf, so he responded with a "golf club" - He returned home thinking perhaps the King would send him a diamond studded golf club. One day a courier arrived at his door with a parcel addressed to him from the King. He wondered at the parcel because it did not look like a golf club! When he opened the parcel - lo and behold it was the title deed to a GOLF CLUB!  Let's raise the standard today -- see the bigger picture -- believe God for greater things - ABUNDANCE!!!! "Thou art coming to a King - large petitions with thee bring."

He is in it for the endurance! :-) No useless, washed up quitters in God's company. He will carry us if necessary but HE will still be there and we will still be precious to HIM! You've heard the saying: "It's not those who start well, but those who finish well who get the crown!" Let's make sure we don't give up along the way - because surely HE won't! :-) FINISH WELL!

The Promises of God:
"Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases" (Psalm 103:3).

To know our sins are forgiven and gone what a privilege! How thrilled we should be daily to live with such freedom - but there's more - "who heals all your diseases" - there is nothing to hard for Jesus! Sometimes we see miraculous instantaneous healings - other times we see gradual little by little healings - sometimes we see people healed in this life and other times we see them go off to heaven for their healing! Our part is to BELIEVE in Jesus - trust ourselves into His hands because He is a faithful Creator and Watchman of our lives. To live in a sin-sick world knowing our sins are forgiven is the greatest miracle of all! Delight in His salvation today!

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world" (John 16:33).

Hallelujah! What a promise HE has overcome the world - isn't it just frightful and maddening when you see the world around us degenerating at such a forceful speed? It is easy to despair - but we have HIS promise of peace in the midst of the turmoil and we know that HE has overcome the world with it's wickedness and the wicked one! JESUS is the winner! Again the enemy is good at his game of convincing us it is not so - but he is a liar! Lift up your eyes for your redemption draws near! Hallelujah! What A Savior!

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).

Now there's a promise to bring a smile to your face. Somehow in our "modern" world the tireder we are the more successful we feel! :-) Rest just seems wrong! Yet, here we have the Almighty One inviting us to live in REST! No strings attached HE will just GIVE it to us! Of course, the flip side is we must be willing to accept it! Rest today in knowing HIM!

Jesus led me all the way, Led me step by step each day
I will sing with saints and angels when I lay my burdens down,
Jesus led me all the way.

Walk in the middle of trouble we will but we are not alone! The Great Navy Seal of Heaven the Commander in Chief of Angel Armies is on our side! His powerful right hand is outstretched on our behalf! Hallelujah what a Savior! The enemy of our souls is always trying to turn our hearts against our great Savior - it's an age old - worn out tactic - let's get wise to his tactics and KNOW whom we have believed! "Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22).

Here is a promise that God will sustain us - what is our part? Cast our burdens on HIM! What an exchange! Sounds too good to be true! In fact, we are so used to being conned and ripped off that we often have a hard time with this exchange - we have this idea that if we just hold on to our burdens we'll at least be in control of them. :-) Sounds ridiculous - right? Stop! Right now - whatever "burden" you are carrying go lay it down at the Savior's feet! Don't be surprised if you have to go and lay it down over and over - just keep laying it down until you can leave it there! HE never intended for you to carry it in the first place! "His yoke is easy and His burden is light"!

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah" (Psalm 46:1-3).

This verse gives us a vivid description of the earth being shaken up fiercely! The good news is that it is preceded by the promise "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."!! Does it seem like the the earth around you is in upheaval? Rest on this promise - you are not alone! God is "VERY PRESENT" in your trouble! We are not promised to be spared from the upheavals of life but rather promise a refuge a the LORD of Angel Armies Himself by our side! During crisis we are the ones that run off - not God! :-)

Wow what a picture of a safe and secure place! We live in a fearful world and would have just cause to be more and more fearful except for this fact and promise that we HAVE a solid REFUGE! Fear is one of the tools satan uses a lot to hold us back and keep us from enjoying our inheritance! Send him on the run today as you reflect on the safe and sure refuge we have in HIM!!

"Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. The salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble" (Psalm 37:24, 39).

Here we see that although we may have fallen down in our walk through life - the Lord will not allow us to be CAST down - for He promises to uphold us by HIS hand! Our part then is to clasp the hand of God! His hand of Help is always extended to us - it's our choice to take it or leave it! I don't know about you but I'm taking it! The verse then goes on to add the HE is our strength in time of trouble! How many times have you ever thought or said, "oh, Lord give me strength"! Well, HE does! He's promised to and again we have the choice of taking it or leaving it! Let's choose to accept the great help of JEHOVAH!

"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD" (Psalm 27:10, 14).

Wow - what a huge pick  me up! IF you have been forsaken by even your father and or mother - the LORD himself will take over your care! We can use our past as an excuse for the rest of our life or we can allow it to catapult forward into HIS great plans!

Then we have this word "WAIT" which we don't even like to think about - yet herein lies the secret to our success and strength for our hearts! This word wait includes in it's meaning - looking with expectancy in our hearts until the answer is given. Oh what a hard lesson to learn and what a long discourse we could go in to. I once heard a speaker say - we spend the majority of our lives waiting - so we need to learn to wait well! :-) May we all be among those who wait expectantly ON our God!

The Promises of God:

"I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end" (Jeremiah 29:11).

Another translation says "a delightful end" - what a promise! First of all HE is thinking about us! Not as we picture Him (someone trying to catch us doing wrong) but rather thinking of us with thoughts of PEACE!!! Thoughts of PEACE and NOT EVIL!! Are you understanding that? Clearly those that attribute evil to God do NOT know HIM! Another translation says "to give you a future and a hope!" Now that's good news! When life gives a one two punch leaving us winded and not knowing quite what hit us - we can still KNOW that HIS thoughts towards us are peace and although WE may think our life is over - HE still has a "future and a hope" for us! Hallelujah!

The Promises of God:

"Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses" (Psalm 107:19).

In this Psalm, we have a long list of different "troubles" the Israelite people bumped into along the way - each time the Psalmist comments, "then" they cried to the Lord in their trouble. It is a lesson in human nature. Why wait until we are in trouble to cry out to the Lord? He is merciful - He answered every time and delivered them out of their present distress (it's His promise). But He was looking for relationship with His people and they were not getting it! Let's us get it! But if you ARE in trouble turn and cry out to the Lord - HE WILL SAVE you too! :-)

"They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him" (Psalm 126:5, 6).

Sowing and reaping! The sowing is toilsome and includes weeping - but the harvest - yes the harvest causes REJOICING! Shouts of joy! We would like the harvest without the time of sowing or weeping! :-) Joyful Harvest time is promised to those who sow! What a life lesson! We live in a generation that demands the "promise" while disregarding the prerequisite or the condition that comes first! However, there's no getting around God's order! Whatever season you are in - remember, harvest is surely coming!

Thank God He cares about those who are afflicted - care enough to "light their candle"! :-) Since He is the LIGHT that is not hard to understand. It is one of the most moving things we see as we look at Jesus Ministry. He reaches out to - cares about - hangs out with - those who are afflicted and need light shed on their darkness! No matter what darkness you may find yourself in today - remember Jesus - the Light of the World will come and shed light on your pathway if you'll ask Him. It's a promise!

This is the way we need to speak to ourselves rather than beating ourselves up and agreeing to the lies of the devil! Find a scripture that will encourage your heart and speak it out loud when the evil one comes and fills your mind with destructive and negative thoughts - Even Jesus had to speak the word out loud in order to fight the attacks of the enemy. And reach out and encourage someone else too - it's amazing how much that helps encourage our own hearts!

BUT as the righteous ones, we have the LORD who delivers us out of all life throws at us! Don't be surprised that life happens - and sometimes unexplainable wrongs are done us. The Promises of God:

"For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning" (Psalm 30:5).

I would like you to read that verse again and emphasize the word MAY - It is not God's intention for us to continue to sorrow as those who have no hope from the losses life hands us. As in child birth, joy follows pain, if we allow our hearts to open up to receive that joy. There are so many things we grieve the loss of as humans, loss of a loved one, loss of a job, loss of a home, loss of rank, or reputation, loss of a business, loss of friends, what is it that still is grieving your heart? Change and loss are CERTAINTIES in this life...we should not be surprised or shocked by them, yet we are. Are we willing to allow the night to pass and open our hearts up again to JOY? "weeping MAY endure for a (long) night,...... B U T - JOY comes in the morning and morning always comes! Remember, Joy is a choice, let's  choose JOY!

Happy March FORTH!

The Promises of God:

"Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD. The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life. Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel" (Psalm 128:3-6).

BLESS YOU! How often we use those words without thinking what we are saying. THE Lord bless you and keep you, make His face shine on you, and give you peace. How important that we speak BLESSING over our own lives and all those who live in our homes. Then extend it - and take that blessing out to those you work with and those you meet throughout your day - Wouldn't that be a neat way to greet one another, rather than, "how ya doing?" :-)

God BLESS you today!

"In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge" (Proverbs 14:26).

"The seed of the righteous shall be delivered" (Proverbs 11:21).

"The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him" (Proverbs 20:7).

Blessings and promises that reach to our children! It is just true that we either pass on blessing or cursing! We may come from a long line of dysfunctional cursing families - but we have the power to break the cycle and change it to one of BLESSING upon BLESSING! It is far reaching - so start not only believing it but speaking BLESSING over your children today - grown or not and see how far reaching the effects will be!
