The Promises of God:

"But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall" (Malachi 4:2).

Notice today the condition: …”unto you that fear my name…” fear in the sense that we respect God’s instructions to the point of obeying them, not to be afraid of…. We love to claim the promises but do our lives shout out to all around us that we love and honor the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind? The Holy Spirit of Christ who lives within us makes it possible! Live it today!

The Promises of God:

"But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall" (Malachi 4:2).

Hallelujah! What hurts are we hanging on to that are just hindering us from moving forward? Here's a promise that if we will allow HIM - our Sun of Righteousness will arise with healing in His wings to come and heal us! Our part is to jump on His operating table and allow HIM access to whatever it is that is still hurting us and holding us back. Sometimes we wonder why some people never seems to get healed from old hurts - this is the answer - they've never allowed HIM access to their old wounds! The GREAT PHYSICIAN is the ONLY one who can work the miracles of healing that our hearts, minds and spirits so desperately need - Let's swing our hearts door widely open today - and give HIM full access to work HIS wonders!

"But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble" (James 4:6).

HIS GRACE is just a gift! HE gives it! Need more? ASK! No limits - ! Just another example of our GREAT BIG EXTRAVAGANT GOD!

MORE and MORE - not less and less - do you feel like things are fading out? Let's Get closer to the fire! Let the brightness of HIS glory and the LIGHT of HIS countenance so saturate us that others will see the glow as they did on Moses face when he came down from the mountain after speaking with God.

The Promises of God:

"The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon" (Psalm 92:12).

Another aspect of this promise is that the palm tree is FLEXIBLE! When the wind blows it bends - that why if it is healthy it endures even through hurricanes! What kind of a tree are you? God wants us to FLOURISH like the palm trees - !

The Promises of God:

"The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon" (Psalm 92:12).

The nature of the Cedar tree is, that it is always green, yielding an odoriferous smell, and an excellent kind of fruit, like unto apples, but of a sweeter taste, and more wholesome. The roots of some of these cedars are almost destroyed by the shepherds, who have made fires thereat, and holes where they sleep; yet nevertheless they flourish green above, in the tops and branches.
Another picture of how we are to flourish in our daily Christian walk!

The Promises of God:

"The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon" (Psalm 92:12).

Let's just say this is LOADED promise! There is so much to be learned from this analogy - the palm tree grows in the dessert it is able to keep growing and stay green as its roots go down deep enough to reach the water!

The figure of the palm-tree gives us the idea of grandeur and usefulness. The fruit of the palm-tree makes a great part of the diet of the people of Arabia, part of Persia, and Upper Egypt. The stones are ground down for the camels; the leaves are made into baskets; the hard boughs, or rather strong leaves, some being six or eight feet in length, make fences; the juice makes arrack, the threads of the web-like integument between the leaves make ropes, and the rigging of small vessels; and the wood serves for slighter buildings and fire-wood. In short, the palm or date tree, and the olive, are two of the most excellent and useful productions of the forest or the field.
Let's flourish like the Palm Tree!

The Promises of God:

"They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God" (Psalm 84:7).

Strength to strength! Often it feels more like from weakness to weakness! However we must remember the promise - strength to STRENGTH! If we run out of strength - remember we not without resources! Those who wait on the Lord will have renewed strength!

The Promises of God:

Psalm 1:1-3  Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

THE MESSAGE BIBLE reads:

Psalm 1:1 How well God must like you-- you don't hang out at Sin Saloon, you don't slink along Dead-End Road, you don't go to Smart-Mouth College. Instead you thrill to GOD's Word, you chew on Scripture day and night. You're a tree replanted in Eden, bearing fresh fruit every month, Never dropping a leaf, always in blossom.

We love the "whatsoever you do will prosper" part - but notice there is also OUR part! Daily we are choosing whether we realize it or not - Let's choose to "hang out" with those who build us up and lift us heaven-ward! Let's choose to change the "old tapes" of discouragement and self deprecation to feasting on the truth of GOD's WORD! Let's choose to STAY in fellowship with God's people - the benefits are out of this world! :-)

"If these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ"
 (2 Peter 1:8).

The these things are: faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, kindness, love. So the promise is if these things are IN us we will be FRUITFUL - HOW can they all be in us? Through the HOLY SPIRIT - Claim your portion today!

The Promises of God:

"God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7).

Here we have another major tactic of our enemy to keep us under his sway - FEAR! It doesn't matter what kind of fear - as long as he can keep you filled with fear you cannot be filled with faith. REMEMBER - - GOD has GIVEN us - POWER - LOVE and a sound mind! Claim it - choose to turn from your fears and place your trust in Jehovah! You may have to turn from your fears a million times a day - God has not put any limits on how many times we ask for HIS help- if you're determined to win - you WILL!

If GOD be for us - WHO - can be against us? - Yet the deceiver is cunning at making it seem like ALL is against us! Our enemy is a LIAR - don't be fooled - our God of Angel Armies stands ready to come to our assistance every moment of the day and night! So....'courage yourself up.'

"My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Another promise to help us when we just run out of our own resources! HIS STRENGTH - HE never asked us to muster the strength or go on in our own power - just rely on HIM for the complexities of life - HIS GRACE - HIS STRENGTH - it will be enough to meet the need!

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:29-31).

Looking at this verse once more - we see the promise of mounting up with wings as eagles - when life is bearing down us - flying away like an eagle sounds just about right - ! Although we cannot fly AWAY from life - we can in our spirits with God's grace - rise up and fly over our mountains just as the eagles soar high in the sky - Not by might, not by power but by my Spirit... let's wait on HIM!

This verse is packed with promise! The word "faint" means to "lose heart" - and don't we find that almost at every turn of the road the enemy is lurking to find another way to make us lose heart!? Our God of angel armies knew we would have this ongoing struggle - so HE prepared a solution - "they that wait upon the Lord" ....they shall walk and NOT lose heart! May that thought "courage you up" today!

The same WARRIOR God that we spoke of yesterday - is also a tender compassionate friend. Sometimes we find ourselves like "bruised reeds" - but He does not cast us off - He comes and heals and binds our wounds and sets us on our feet again until we are able to walk forward and join the ranks once again.

That's a promise! Our part is to do the RESISTING! We do not have to lay down and take everything the devil tries to put on us or attack us with! Let's ask for knowledge to recognize what is the work of satan and when to STAND and RESIST! Warriors go after their enemy they don't just wait for an attack to resist - so let's take it a step further - and put our enemy on the defensive!

"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

GREATER is He who is in YOU [Jesus Christ] - than he [satan] that is in the world! Are you understanding that? It is easy to say the words but are you living it? Or does the enemy have you trapped, enslaved, tormented, in bondage? Our enemy is masterful at doing that to us - because he knows how forgetful we are of the "dominion" that CHRIST gave us at Calvary! Through the Holy Spirit - we have dominion over every evil work - over every demonic trap or torment - remember RESIST the devil and he will FLEE from you! Fight the good fight of faith! Lay hold of eternal life - it's worth fighting for!

Another verse tells us HE was tempted in ALL points just like we are - yet HE remained with out sin! It should give us hope! We have a resource even when we are sorely tempted - Don't try to make it on your own - seek the support and prayer of other believers - it is where our faith is STRENGTHENED!

"The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations"
(2 Peter 2:9).

In case you were wondering if HE knew HOW to deliver you - HE DOES! And promise to do it! Are you being tested ? remember, HE knows HOW to deliver you! Once when I was in a more than perplexing situation I had reached my wits end (so to speak) I told the Lord "I don't even know if you know HOW to show me what to do" - you guessed it - it was not very long after I said that - HE placed in my hand the "golden key" that opened my prison doors until I was completely set free! HE knew HOW - it was me who couldn't see that - He will do the same for you - just ask!

"God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tested above that you are able; but will with the test also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Just the first 3 words makes us stop - GOD IS FAITHFUL - since we do not find this in mankind it is hard for us to even believe that God is or could be faithful to us. Yet it is HIS promise - and then He adds that we will not be tested beyond what we are able to endure - granted we do not always agree with God's opinion on that one - but since HE is all KNOWING - we'll have to trust Him on this one! :-)

The Promises of God:

"The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit" (Romans 8:2-4).

Here is the same thought we have been considering through the promised Holy Spirit we are able to walk in righteousness - without it we would be lost! Whatever struggle you may be facing today - remember the abundant supply you have access to with boldness! Go to your FATHER who is RICH in mercy and longing to give you the necessary supply!

The Promises of God:

Acts 2:1
Now when the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing might wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were ALL filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.!

The PROMISE outpoured - Just as the skies have been bursting open today with downpours from the skies so the Holy Spirit was outpoured on the Day of Pentecost - God is NOT slack concerning HIS promise! The Helper, The Holy Spirit was promised and GIVEN! The promise is still good - as Joel wrote: For the promise is to you you and to your children! CLAIM your portion today and every day - new infillings and anointing to equip us for HIS work here on earth!

The Promises of God:

Luke 11:13
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

The Lord also taught His disciples how the Father supplies our need to minister to a needy world. He meets the need by giving us His Holy Spirit. Earthly fathers are subject to the frailties of the flesh, yet delight to give good things to their children. How MUCH MORE shall the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to them who ask. This is how we receive the loaves to set before the hungry and needy. This is how we are enabled to pray.

Luke 11:13
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

The truth that Jesus wanted His disciples to learn from this parable is the contrast between the friend and the Father. The heavenly Father is not a sleepy reluctant donor, but a willing and generous Father. We are taught to expect that our Father will supply our need quickly and joyfully when we apply to Him.

The Promises of God:

Luke 11:13
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Here we have THE PROMISE of the Father - that the Holy Spirit will be given to all who ASK! Just before this verse Jesus tells a story of a friend who at midnight comes and asks bread from his friend because he has received unexpected company and has nothing to feed them. The friend is not happy about being awakened at such an hour but gets up and grants the request so he can go back to sleep again. The story ends by Jesus commending the friend for his PERSISTENCE - Have you asked for the Holy Spirit and feel you have not received Him in fullness? KEEP asking - persistence is rewarded and the Holy Spirit is PROMISED!
