The Promises of God:

"And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight" (1John 3:22).

Notice the condition mentioned here: "because we keep His commandments" as well as "do those things that are pleasing in His sight" 

We would rather hear just go ahead and live however you want to and all the promises are yours no matter what. However, that is not what this verse of scripture says - In order to receive the promises we need to OBEY His commands and His commands are not burdensome - because Jesus told us - His yoke is easy and His burden is light - In order to keep the commandments we need to know what they are - Next time you read through the gospels - highlight HIS commands - then see how you measure up.
