Prayer:

"Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Matthew 6:9-13

This is the answer Jesus gave to His disciples when they asked Him to teach them to pray - so it's a good starting point for us too. Our Father - first of all we pray to our Father. Often children are taught to pray, Dear Jesus, - but Jesus taught us to pray "Our Father" - secondly, Father gives us the picture of God that He is longing for us to understand - we are not coming as beggars before an earthly beneficiary - but to our HEAVENLY FATHER - a Father that supersedes every human father we can think of in His love and understanding and desire to do us GOOD and not evil! Let's pray as we mediate on these thought that we will understand them in a new and fresh way as the Holy Spirit opens our hearts to fresh insights.
