The Promises of God:

"LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power" (2 Chronicles 14:11).

This is from an attack from Ethiopia against Asa King of Judah - Ethiopia came with an army of over a million and Judah had an army of less than 1/2 that size - Asa cried out to God - numbers don't matter with you! You are the God of angel armies! And God fought with them and for them and Ethiopia was overturned. Again just another natural illustration for us - we are not fighting actual physical battles - but the war for our hearts and minds rages daily! As well as the battle for the souls of men. We do not fight alone and though we may feel like a "few" up against so many with the odds against us - "IF God be for us - WHO can be against us!? He who spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all .... shall He not also freely give us all things!? He shall - He will - He did! HALLELUJAH!!! What a Savior!

The Promises of God:

"Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them"
 (2 Kings 6:16).

This was spoken by Elisha to his servant who awakened one morning to find the city they were staying in surrounded by a literal army of chariots and horses. Elisha prayed that God would open his servants eyes - and lo and behold, the terrified servant saw that the heavenly hosts of angel armies that were with them far out numbered their enemies!!! HALLELUJAH!! Isn't that so often the case with us too? The present distress is all too easy to focus on - but if we'll pray for that heavenly vision - we'll clearly see that our present circumstances are not in control - we too are surrounded by "so great a cloud of witnesses" and GREATER is HE that is in us - than he that is in the world! FEAR NOT!

The Promises of God:

Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken" (Proverbs 3:25, 26).

Whew! What a command and promise! FEAR NOT - Is that actually possible? It is the most frequent command in the Bible - BECAUSE - we have the LORD with us always - at all times - good or bad - "WE have this confidence." Question is: are we living like that? Fear is one of the enemy's tools to keep us from living a life of victory and confidence! Walk out in that today as Peter walked out on the water. Jesus did not intend for him to sink - it was only as Peter took his eyes off the Master that he lost his footing! :-)

The Promises of God:
"Behold, God himself is with us for our captain" (2Chronicles 13:12).

I guess we cannot be reminded too often that we have the GOD of Angel Armies our very own personal Navy Seal going before us and mapping out the way! We really do not have to figure it all out on our own! How patient HE is when we take matters into our own hands and forge ahead in crazy directions! Patiently He waits for us to stop, come back to Him allowing Him to be CAPTAIN! A human military captain would just order us into line - Our Heavenly Captain - allows us to get tired of our own ways and come back to Him even when we've messed up badly! WHAT LOVE!

The Promises of God

John 14:19
Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
Because HE Lives

GOD Sent HIS SON,
They called HIM JESUS;
HE Came to love, heal and forgive;
HE lived and died
To buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there
To prove my Saviour lives.

CHORUS:
Because He lives
I can face tomorrow;
Because HE lives
All fear is gone;
Because I know
HE holds the future,
And life is worth the living
just because HE lives.

How sweet to hold
A new born baby,
And feel the pride,
And joy HE gives;
But greater still
The calm assurance,
This child can face uncertain days
Because HE lives.

Chorus:

And then one day
I'll cross the river;
I'll fight life's
Final war with pain,
And then as death
Gives way to victory,
I'll see the lights of Glory
And I'll know HE lives.

The Promises of God:

"The LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you. For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee" (Deuteronomy 20:4; 23:14).

In our case it is not physical human enemies we need help with but the attacks of the enemy. The good news is that satan is already a defeated foe! His time is short! When you are "under attack" remember you have been equipped with armor - salvation, the truth of God's Word, faith, righteousness, peace, as well as the sword of the Spirit and the secret weapon of PRAYER! Don't behave like an untrained civilian! Stand up and fight! Resist the devil and he will FLEE from you! Remember we do not fight alone!

The Promises of God:
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us" (Romans 8:1, 33, 34).

Imagine that! Not only did he go to the cross and rise again for us - but HE continues to pour His love out on us continually by interceding for us at His Father's right hand! What love! How could we be "down" or "discouraged" ???

"It wasn't nails that held Jesus to the cross,
It was His love for us, that held Him to the cross,
AND HOW the angels must have cried,
Watching helpless as He died -
To bring us love - perfect love, His kind of LOVE!"
