Thanksgiving

Psalm 100 - A Psalm of Thanksgiving
Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.

Here we find a whole little Psalm of Thanksgiving! I commented on the "joyful shout" yesterday so let's start with the next phrase "Serve the Lord with gladness" Seems like it might be unnecessary to be told to serve the Lord with gladness, but truth be told, sometimes we do NOT do it! We get weary in well-doing - we wonder if anyone ever notices - we wonder why no one else does what we are doing and on and on - and this is just what life is all about - are we willing to serve the Lord with gladness? Period! If we are complaining then who are we really serving? Just a good way to check up on ourselves! Let's make whatever adjustments we need to and really serve HIM with gladness! HE KNOWS and HE cares! Not even a cup of cold water given in His name, escapes His watchful eye!

Happy Thanksgiving!
